Re: Beauty & Pain

Well, I guess Pain is part of beauty... specially when it comes to maintaining beauty... maintaining physical beauty rather... Or creating beauty according a person's concept... or perception... As far as I have known, human beings are always fascinated by it since the early days of evolution (I suppose) :) People started making beauty products spending a lot of time... they started making themselves beautiful by piercing various parts of their body... Few used smaller shoes to make their feet smaller... few bandaged the new-born baby's head so that they become cone-headed (to me it seems more like egg headed, though)... And throughout the world one can find countless examples of beauty concepts (which according to me are ideas or perceptions), and many of those concepts are associated with pain... labor, research, surgery and god knows what else.

I believe, people love to suffer from pain just for a little bit of beauty... That's how they pay for it... because to many people, beauty is hard to find... And it's even harder to maintain... And in some cases, it's nearly impossible to satisfy... :)

Beauty and pain!

Just back from the nursing home after a surgery (to fix-up my broken nose, which was broken whn i was a li'l devil and God only knows how long exactly). When i woke up with a horrible pain in my throat (from the tube stuck down my throat) and parched lips (for having to breathe through my mouth as my nose was sealed), I was thinking about the billions of people who go through this pain voluntarily to get a "better nose". I for one wud have never wanted it.... Well 5 days gone and i still look like i have had a bad fight with some players down at the football field!

Perspective huh???

Just thinking still about what lengths will one go to just to LOOK a LITTLE BETTER!!!

(I kinda had to get it done to Breathe!!!)

Girl's Diary VS boy's Diary

HER DIARY
------------------

Day night, I thought he was acting weird. We had made plans to meet at a cafe to have some coffee. I was shopping with my friends all day long, so I thought he was upset at the fact that I
was a bit late, but he made no comment.Conversation wasn't flowing so

I suggested that we go somewhere quiet so we could talk, he agreed but he kept quiet and absent. I asked him what was wrong - he said,

"Nothing."I asked him if it was my fault that he was upset. He said it had nothing to do with me and not to worry.

On the way home I told him that I loved him, he simply smiled and kept driving. I can't explain his behavior; I don't know why he didn't say, "I love u,too."

When we got home I felt as if I had lost him, as if he wanted nothing to do with me anymore.
He just sat there and watched TV.; he seemed distant and absent. Finally I decided to go to bed. About 10 minutes later he came to bed. I decided that I could not take it anymore, so I decided to confront him with the situation but he had fallen asleep.

I started crying and cried until I too fell asleep. I don't know what to do. I'm almost sure that his thoughts are with someone else.

My life is gonna be a disaster.

HIS DIARY
==========

Today India lost the cricket match against Bangladesh.

DAMN IT.

Little Johnny's Dinner Story

Little Johnny watched his daddy's car pass by the school playground and go into the woods. Curious, he followed the car and saw Daddy and Aunt Jane in a passionate embrace.

Little Johnny found this so exciting that he could not contain himself
as he ran home and started to tell his mother, "Mommy, I was at the playground and I saw Daddy's car go into the woods with Aunt Jane. I went back to look and he was giving Aunt Jane a big kiss, then he helped her take off her shirt... Then Aunt Jane helped Daddy take his pants off, then Aunt Jane........"

At this point Mommy cut him off and said, "Johnny, this is such an
interesting story, suppose you save the rest of it for supper time. I want to see the look on Daddy's face when you tell it tonight."

At the
dinner table, Mommy asked little Johnny to tell his story.

Johnny started his story, "I was at the playground and I saw Daddy's car go into the woods with Aunt Jane. I went back to look and he was giving Aunt Jane a big kiss, then he helped her take off her shirt. Then Aunt Jane helped Daddy take his pants off, then Aunt Jane and Daddy started doing the same thing that Mommy and Uncle Bill used to do when Daddy was in the Army."

MORAL: Sometimes you need to listen to the whole story before you interrupt

Pochishe (25th) Baishakh (8th May)..... Rabindra jayanti...

Almost all bengalis (residential or non residential in bengal) know this day and a lot of them spare a moment to remember the great poet, maybe recite a few poems, sing a few of his compositions (with melody or otherwise)....

However, in my family, this day has been celebrate in a very unconventional way!!! it has always been a day for a family reunion! all relatives from all over the country come together to celebrate the not-so-auspicious occasion of... well... our birthday!

yes, you read it right... "our" is what i wrote... that means me and my sister.... Nope... we are not twins, born 4 yrs apart, however, accidentally on the same date...

Over the last 5 yrs, the celebrations have dulled exponentially owing to the fact hat the two of us were in different cities. They had merely turned to "a day spending money treating friends and missing my sister..." (dont care how much it may seem otherwise, i know this feeling is mutual...)

After 5 years when we finally got another birthday together, I was overwhelmed with emotions i cant even begin to explain! I wanted the day to be perfect! The cakes, the menu, the venue and the guests were planned way in advance... Not how a typical b'day party usually goes.... The only thing I didn't count upon was the wrath of mother nature.....

All complaints aside, My B'day this year was the best i could have asked for.. maybe even a little more... I loved the company of my friends, and my sister’s friends (they're a hoot).... And most of all i loved the fact that i met so many relatives that day after so long ( more relatives also mean more cash in hand.. instead of material gifts)....

I loved the way i spent my special day!!!

I cant wait for the next B'day to come... (why does it have to be once a year!!!)
